Colin Mawby (b. 1936) is one of Britain and America’s most successful and popular composers of sacred choral music. The compositions of the former director of music at London’s Westminster Cathedral are now also reaching a growing and increasingly appreciative audience on the European continent, not least thanks to Butz-Verlag’s publication of more than 60 of his choral works.
Mawby’s compositions are very much in the tradition of Romantic English choral music. Always tailored precisely to the needs of choirs singing services and concerts, they are characterised by freshness and sonority coupled with harmonic and rhythmic finesse.
Since their appearance in the Butz-Verlag catalogue, British composer Colin Mawby’s sacred choral
works have gained a firm place in the repertoire of many enthralled choirs. It has been our pleasure to
respond to the numerous calls for a recording of his compositions. On request, we will send you our new CD
of 13 choral works by the composer free of charge. Pure listening pleasure and a desire to sing these works
yourself are guaranteed!
